A new Favorite Tool

File Tab Punch

I started scrapping with Creative Memories and most of my tools are still CM products.  But I have a new favorite and its from W R Memorykeepers.  Check out this tab punch.

If you visit often, you know I like to stretch my stash.  So I save lots of scraps, especially of patterned paper I love.  But lots of those scraps are really too small to do much with and I have to purge my scrap file often.  Now I take those little scraps and punch tabs.  I keep them in a small bowl on my table and when I am looking for those bits and pieces to finish off a layout, they are ready to go.  And I get to use up all those scraps of my favorite patterned paper.

Bracket Tab Punch
I like it so much that I'm asking Santa for the bracket tab punch.

I'd love to know what your favorite tool is and what your favorite way to use scraps is.  Make sure you follow my blog and leave me a comment, telling me what your favorite tool is and/or how you use up your scraps to win a pack of Studio Calico "bits and pieces from the Black Friday grab bags.  You never know - some other grab bag goodies might find their way into the package too.  I'll draw from all the comments I've received by December 7th.

Hope you have a great Thursday.

  1. That's a neat tool! I haven't used that before but I can see how it'd be extremely handy! My current favourite tool is the tiny attacher. It's such a cute little stapler.

  8. These tab punches look great!! For me, my favorite tool right now are my spellbinder dies. And for scraps, I keep them for PL - as backing or cutting into strips to embellish a journal card!

  10. I'd love, love ,love to have a cameo..but since I don't - my favorite tools are my punches. I have lots of them and use them all the time, especially the border punches. I use my scraps for punched hearts, circles etc and to layer around photos and for journal cards.

  13. I saw the punches but have not gotten one and great for the review.
My favorite tool has been the tiny attacher from Tim Holtz -- makes life simple and uncomplicated.
I use the scraps on other layouts -- might be for accent or border.

  14. well those are certainly cool!! I don't really have a favorite tool....how sad is that! I use my small long tipped scissors from fiskars A LOT for fussy cutting. I just have the basic tools and very few punches. I have Sew Easy but don't really like it....so I recently bought me a mini hand held sewing machine to sew on layouts and cards....maybe it will become my new fave lol

  16. Hmmmm.....I have so many tools I love! Actually, my "newest" to me favorite is the original handheld Quickkutz diecutting tool. I use it along with embossing folders to emboss just edges of pages, or move the embossing folder along to be able to emboss a full 12" strip of paper. How do I like to use scraps? I punch out shapes from the tiniest pieces of paper then save them to use like confetti on a page-or as large clustered borders on a LO.

  17. I'm coveting one of these at the moment. My favourite tool though is probably my trimmer, I use it all the time. LOL.

As for scraps? I don't use them too much, they end sitting in a big box waiting for me to dig through.

  19. Hi, I think my fav tool is the crop a dile. Not to set eyelets but to punch holes. And my trimmer, I didn't even consider that a tool! LOL! Scraps are a interest g proposition. As I seem to make more than I use, I'm donating all to the local elementary school. Maybe they'll get more love there! I'm 'forsara' at Studio Calico, and you can contact me there if I happen to win! Thanks so much for the fun!
Ps. I also am now following your blog via google.
