Cropping With My Daughter

A friend of mine who is a Creative memories consultant hosted a 12 hour crop in recognition of national Scrapbook Day yesterday.  With some trepidation, I took my 12 year old daughter along.  I wasn't sure how that was going to workout, but she did great!  She did her own layouts, she played with punches and made some really cute embellishments and borders for herself and for some of our friends who were there,  And I still got 14 pages done.  It was a great day!  (and yes, I took photos so I could scrap about our cropping adventure in her album.)

I am working on my son's juion year album - which involved lots of soccer layouts from the fall.  Since both my boys took soccer really seriously, I have done more soccer layouts than I can count, and generally dread doing them now.  I'm just sick of them!  But yesterday, I enjoyed putting them together -- and I'm done for a while!  Here are some of the pages I did yesterday.

This layout was about pre-season scrimmages.  I used my embosser to emboss some grass and threw in a Heidi Swapp pennant border to liven it up.  My daughter wasn't surea bout the glitter, but I really liked how it came out.

This is one of a series of layouts I did for his high school season _ I think there are 6 layouts in total.  I used the same papers and embellishments I had made with the Cricut soccer cartridge  on all of them.  I also used the pennants, and the stars to tie the layouts together.  They all look different, but clearly relate to each other.

I managed to do a few other subjects too.  I really liked this layout for the first day of school.

I used LYB school paper and some Basic Grey and some BoBunny stickers.  Its so much fun to put unrelated products together for a unique result!  I cut the title with my cricut and used my embosser to add some texture.  I also incorporated a note Nicholas wrote us during Catholic Schools week about his high school experience at Bishop Hartley.
