This layout was inspired by a journaling prompt for one of the Studio Calico fifth anniversary challenges. The prompt was "In 5 years." I usually focus on events, not emotions, in my layouts. But the prompt inspired this layout for my son, who is getting ready for his senior year in high school.

"As
you get ready for your senior year, I can't help but think back to
the beginning – when you were a blond, blue-eyed baby who wanted to
cuddle all the time. I've watched you grow -- watched your struggles
and your victories.
You
have faced all the challenges that came your way and made the most of
opportunities – now you're ready to start your Senior year – a
mentor group lead, a math tutor, a soccer captain with good grades
and great college admission test scores. You are a success! I can't
wait to see your future!
In Five Years
You
will be graduating from college, ready to face your future."
Sometimes it's important to remember all the places your children have been, recognize their achievements and be excited abut all that is in their future.
