You are quickly becoming a favorite of mine, and although I don't subscribe to any blog, I will find you either from Studio Calico or my reading history. So I look forward to seeing more. I can't imagine, though, how difficult it is to blog, work, be a mom, create, etc, and do it. Blogging is beyond my skill level.

Anyway, I am the opposite. I am less confident in design, layouts, and more confident with mixed media. I don't use it on every layout, maybe 3 out of 5 say. I predominantly use it to make a background, and I think that's the easiest way to incorporate mixed media without losing or muddling your style. I use watercolors and stamps. Also use watercolors splatters or blocks. Not good at describing what I mean.

Another way to get more confident is to start an art journal. Doesn't have to be fancy, and you don't have to buy anything. For this I do prefer a gesso layer on my paper first thing. I paint whatever I feel like, last one was flowers. Sometimes I "journal", sometimes not.

Anyway, no experience, just wanted to share a little small thing. Good luck with it. This turned out great and I love it. I wish you well, and hope you are considering applying at Paper Issues. Michelle tMichelle thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03497225528330370457noreply@blogger.com
